The FieldEdge alternative for independent appliance repair shops
Same QuickBooks sync, dispatch, and customer history — at half the price, with an AI phone receptionist included as a $79 add-on instead of bolted on at enterprise pricing.
Why FieldEdge is a fair choice
We won't pretend they're a bad product. Independent appliance repair shops choose FieldEdge for three reasons that hold up:
- Mature QuickBooks Desktop integration (2-way, real-time)
- Strong customer-history view for service plan management
- Established in HVAC; respected by larger residential service businesses
Where FieldEdge leaves money on the table
For appliance-repair-shop owners specifically — not generic home-service operators.
Pricing isn't published
FieldEdge's website does not publish a rate card — pricing is only available via a sales call. Independent reviews suggest quotes scale meaningfully with team size and module selection. Hard to compare without going through a sales conversation first.
Built for HVAC, retrofitted for appliance
Workflow defaults (equipment install, system tune-ups, maintenance contracts) reflect HVAC industry needs. Appliance-specific things (brand+model+serial per appliance, parts inventory per SKU) aren't first-class.
No AI phone receptionist
FieldEdge doesn't answer your phone. Shops typically add a third-party answering or AI service for after-hours coverage, billed separately.
No auto-generated marketing landing pages
Marketing is bring-your-own. We generate ~125 landing pages per shop, hyperlocal, with JSON-LD structured data.
Where MeraFix wins
Transparent published pricing
$99 Starter / $199 Pro / $349 Scale. No sales call required to know the number. Add-ons listed openly.
AI Phone as a built-in add-on
Multilingual receptionist (EN / ES / RU), filters common spam patterns, books directly into your calendar. Sold as a single in-platform add-on instead of an external answering service that lives in a separate vendor relationship.
Appliance-vertical workflow
Multi-appliance per customer, brand+model+serial tracking, parts inventory per SKU. Not retrofitted from HVAC.
~125 SEO landing pages + Google Ads attribution
Programmatic SEO that ranks. Closed-loop GCLID attribution from ad click to paid job.

Run the math for your shop
Typical small shop: 20 missed calls × 50% close × $250 avg = $2,500/mo recovered. At $399/mo (Pro — AI Phone included), that's a 6.3× ROI.

Frequently asked questions
I have QuickBooks Desktop. Does MeraFix support it?
FieldEdge has more mature Desktop QB integration. We support QuickBooks Online with real-time 2-way sync, and Desktop via CSV import. If you're committed to Desktop and need real-time sync, FieldEdge currently has the edge. Most independent shops have moved to QB Online by 2026.
Does MeraFix do equipment install tracking like FieldEdge?
We track appliances per customer (with brand+model+serial+install date+warranty), which covers most appliance-repair use cases. For HVAC-style install/replacement workflows, FieldEdge is more specialized. If you're 50% HVAC + 50% appliance, evaluate both.
Why is MeraFix cheaper if it has more features?
Two reasons: (1) we're a newer entrant building product instead of paying a 50-person sales team, and (2) our infrastructure is built specifically for appliance repair, not generalized across 5 verticals. Specialized stack = lower run cost.
